Steve Gibbs is a Co-founder at Zero Gravity. He is responsible for managing all of the day-to-day business and event operations of the organization for more than 200 events a year.
Gibbs is a 2007 Graduate of the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management & Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While at UMass, Gibbs served in multiple roles for their NCAA Division I Athletic Department. This included time on both the Athletic Marketing Staff and the External Operations and Sales side. In addition to working for the Minutemen’s Athletic Department, Gibbs served as an assistant to Sports Lawyers Association President, Glenn M. Wong. He helped in the development of Careers in Sports; a book dedicated to helping young students break into the sports industry.
After graduation from UMass, Gibbs joined the Boston College Athletic Operations staff. He was responsible for assisting in the event operations efforts of nine NCAA Division I varsity programs During this tenure, Gibbs also assisted in the management and operations of the ACC Field Hockey Championship Tournament, Women’s Basketball NIT and the NCAA Tournament for both Men’s and Women’s Soccer. Gibbs was also in charge of recruiting and managing the BC Athletic Operations Student Work Program and High School Intern Program.
In 2010, Gibbs and Co-Founder, Gregory Kristof, Founded Zero Gravity Basketball with the mission of improving opportunities for basketball players of all ages and abilities. Since the founding, Zero Gravity has seen unparalleled growth in the grassroots basketball industry. The company now operates in 23 states and has entered in strategic partnerships with the best sports complexes and facilities along the East Coast to produce the highest quality tournaments available in youth sports.
